Two-many step bread pudding


Sometimes I go to a restaurant and see something on the menu like "house-made pita chips" and think, Does that mean they made the pitas and then made them into chips?  Because that seems like a lot of work just to make some chips.

And yet, not too long ago, I made some "house-made banana bread bread pudding".  That's right.  I made the banana bread, baked it, then made it into bread pudding and baked it again.  Not because of some insane desire to spend hours in the kitchen, but because the first try, the banana bread, turned out so darn unappetizing, and the only way save it was to recapitulate it with more eggs, more sugar and chocolate.
